Charming tapas and wine bar with great food, service, patio, and location right in the middle of Main Street st Charles! I have been several times on dates or with family. We always get the fondue and spicy meat balls amongst others. They also have a selection of pastas, flat breads, and other menu items and it is very easy to get full for a tapas spot!
It was a beautiful day to sit outside at Bella Vino to enjoy some tapas. The nachos and spicy meatballs were delicious! It is always fun to people watch and enjoy the angry villagers that were walking around.
This is a wonderful tapas restaurant. It really maximizes its outdoor porch space. There is outdoor seating in the front and back. There are fire pits, warmer lights, and you can request a blanket. The ambiance is very darling. The service and food were amazing. I got the fried Asparagus Salad, butternut squash Flatbread, and spicy meatballs and they were all so delicious. I split those 3 plates with another person and it was just the right amount for a satisfying dinner. I also tried the blackberry limeade and it looked pretty. I went on a Saturday around 6 probably and got walk in seating for 2. It was very busy though so I would recommend a reservation.
My fiancee and I dined here during the 2022 Christmas Season in St. Charles, MO. Some friends had mentioned Bella Vino as a great place to eat, so I easily made reservations on Bella Vino's website a week before our visit. Oh my goodness - this place was amazing! We only waited a few minutes out on the patio on a chilly evening, but all the gas heaters and fireplaces made for a warm and cozy time. Though we were quickly seated inside, we would have been very comfortable out on the patio for the duration of our meal. Once seated, our hostess gave us a quick overview of drinks, specials, and the menu. We ordered: Calamari (with fried spinach, and asiago cheese drizzled with saffron lemon aioli) Bella Nachos (wonton nachos with asiago cheese, kalamata olives, banana peppers, tomatoes and green onions ) Baked Brie (with apricot jam, toasted almonds, sliced apples and crostini) Mushroom Lobster Ravioli (with sherry cream sauce, baby spinach, tomatoes and parmesan) We each had a single drink, then ordered a bottle of Prosecco which was amazing. Each course was a taste sensation, with all the ingredients working together to elevate the meal to a whole new level. Everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The pacing was 'leisurely', but that is not to infer that it was 'slow'. We were able to unwind, visit, enjoy the food, and just relax - which is rare for us these days. It was was an absolutely stunning meal and a magical evening. We live three hours away, but we are sold on Bella Vino - we'll be back for sure!
Fun and tasty tapas! I went with 2 other people and we ordered the fondue, spinach and artichoke dip, hamburger sliders, and the calamari with spinach. Plenty of sharable food for 3 adults. The food was fantastic, I really enjoyed the flashed fried spinach that went with the calamari, very unique and was a great pairing. Overall, I would say this would be one of the go-to spots in historic St. Charles. The food is priced very reasonably and the staff has been very friendly the few times my wife and I have been there. I would highly recommend!
